Can I insure my shipment?
RAM’s Full Liability Option shall only be available to Credit Approved Customers and shall in addition be subject to the Terms and Conditions contained in RAM’s Full Liability Schedule.
RAM is the only courier company within South Africa that is able to assume full liability and provide indemnity cover for transit of specified products based on RAM’s record of moving value in Africa.
Accordingly, in the event of a loss, there is no financial contribution by the client with Zero Excess.
The Waybill (Electronically via the Online Portal or Manual Waybill) provides for the option to elect for RAM’s Full Liability Option. Provided that you elect for RAM’s Full Liability Option, by ticking the appropriate box on the Waybill and Declare the Value for Liability, RAM will agree that full liability shall be extended in relation to the specified goods to be delivered by RAM on your behalf.
RAM’s full liability charge shall be calculated and paid by the client in accordance with the “Liability Charge” in the Service Costs Schedule.
The “Declared Value for Liability” shall:
- be the amount specified and reflected on the waybill under the Liability Option Section; and
- not be greater than and be limited to the cost of replacement from time to time of such items at the time of the theft, loss, damage or destruction thereof.
Please note that RAM does NOT accept any Liability for Services in respect of second hand goods.
How do I report a loss/damage claim for a RAM shipment that failed to arrive, or was damaged?
As per our Standard Terms and Conditions, goods are moved at owner’s risk unless RAM’s Full Liability Option is activated. RAM’s Full Liability Option shall only be available to Credit Approved Customers and shall in addition be subject to the Terms and Conditions contained in RAM’s Full Liability Schedule.
Please also note that parcels must be packed so that the property enclosed therein will not be susceptible to damage during the transport thereof by land or air.
